I recently rewatched “Your Name.” and as usual, felt like I'd been hugged and run over by a truck at the same time. I like all Makoto Shinkai’s movies but this one is really something unique.

I was thinking about the Vimes thing (how the poor have to spend in the short term while the rich can invest in longer lasting products) and how it relates to Apple.
If you're at Asus or whatever and someone proposes making all their laptops out of aluminium, they get laughed out of the room. If you're at Apple Tim Cook just hands you $100,000,000 and says "good idea, call the big aluminium guys, tell them it has to be green, oh and invent a whole new kind of factory too".

I realise this is slightly weird but during Barbie I was thinking “America Ferrara has the most beautiful eyebrows”.
Obviously her eyebrows are shaped professionally but it's not just that, it's the perfect curves they form when she frowns or squints.

I am all caught up in the drama of local bird society in my street.
So much so that the other day I was saying to myself:
"Oh damn, that crow is back stealing food from the magpies? The three mynahs who live in the big tree are going to chase him off though, oh yeah here they come!"
and that was all based on HEARING ALONE. Just sitting in my office with an ear out for chirps and squawks and fluttering.

Me: Not sure I feel comfortable with that kind of recommendation—wait a nude FIGHT scene?
And it turns out it does. Jennifer Lawrence, fully nude, kicking the crap out of three people. I'm sure that's somebody's kink but not mine.

#today I watched the haunting “Reality” from HBO, probably the only movie you will ever see based entirely on an FBI interrogation tape (and the stage play “Is This A Room”).
It’s Pinteresque in its restraint, with just a few heightened moments.
I’m rather pleased for Sydney Sweeney too, she could just coast forever but she took a role where she has almost nothing to work with — ‘woman stands against wall and talks nervously to man’ —and really made it memorable.
