I was not aware of this earlier but did you know that the Cannes Film Festival that was launched on September 20th 1946 was in response to the fascist influence over the Venice Film Festival which was founded 7 years earlier in 1939. Apparently Nazi Germany & Fascist Italy then had been dictating award choices & splitting it between themselves. #film #movies #filmastodon #Moviestodon #films
