  1. 90,000 people signed up for the #City2Surf, around 77,000 completed it. It was a beautiful Sydney day for running.

I had the flu a week before the run, and didn't push myself. And was very happy to complete the 14k in under 80 mins and also have a sprint finish.

Next for me is the Great North Run Trail Run and my first competitive trail run.

  2. Winter solstice #running, and my 26th run of 1026.

The next big run is the #City2Surf in August.

Time to train to get faster and see if I can still run 14k in <76 mins.

  3. I signed up to the #City2Surf this week, 14km from Sydney to Bondi in August.

Today I ran a touch longer than my typical City2Surf time, but 2km short on distance.

The runs are getting linger, and I went to check on the mangroves for the first time this year.

  4. What a wet #City2Surf!

Luckily, I only got soaked in the final 3km, running ankle deep in stormwater.

And there are not many 'after' photos on socials as our phones (and everything else) were dripping wet.

Anyway, turns out you run faster in the pouring rain 🤔 #running

  5. It's the Sydney #City2Surf #running festival on Sunday.

    Rain is forecast.

But on the positive, we have runners bibs where we can write a name on the front. Looking forward to finding out what we all write there.

  6. 10 brush turkeys, 11 ibis, 1 heron and 0 runners today.

Running my typical #City2Surf time. Now I just need to run 1km further in the same time on the day.

  7. Two more weekends until the #City2Surf in Sydney. So it was time to get some hill training done, ready for 'Heartbreak Hill' on race day. And a sunset trail run to avoid near zero morning temperatures. #running

  8. 89998 others on the run today.

Just landed from England? I said to my mate that running the #City2Surf will sort out your jetlag. Let's see 😎

  9. CW: Beefcake

Need to seriously ingest either some beef or cake today. For recovery purposes of course.

  10. #city2surf and wild lawnmower group :akko_blush:

  11. One week before the #City2Surf and I wanted to run my usual City2Surf time. Looks like I'm just over a kilometer short on distance. Let's see...

And, winter running pants have been a revelation and got me out in -3 deg C midweek and +3 deg C today. Nike mens M size have one length and are just long enough (I'm 182 cm).

  12. Run #32 of the year, where you wake up, look at the radar, see a load of rain coming, and head out in the dark to get as much of a dry run in as possible. Super boring route minimizes distance from 🏠.

There's a chance to sneak a run this week in the Snowy Mountains hinterland, but I'm not sure I'm a sub zero runner any more.

    Two weeks to the #City2Surf

  13. Run #30 of 2024, and I'm losing the motivation to head out on the local roads in the dark for early morning runs. Luckily I have the trails, and I plan to bother the wallabies and lyre birds in the daytime for some hill training over the next few weekends leading up to the #City2Surf. #running

  14. 1 hr 28min for the 2023 City2Surf. Fairly happy with the time, 16 min faster than last year. I had beeen getting slower every year #City2Surf #Australia #Running

  15. #Today I ran in the #city2surf which is a huge 14k run in #sydney — 80,000 runners. All I will say about my performance is that I kept running the whole time and never slowed down to a walk.

  16. There's only 10 days until the 2023 #City2Surf here in Sydney.

I had this moon set final training run this morning
