  1. 🐒🧵🙏KUKURIZARU🙈🙉🙊

When walking through the neighbourhood that tumbles down the hillside from Kiyomizu-dera to Gion, you may notice some odd-shaped talismans hung outside homes and businesses.

Kukurizaru (くくり猿) are small balls of cloth, most commonly red in colour.

  2. CW: #ToxicBranding 👀👀

It's not a healthy sign when the branding on something such as when a brand that went toxic .... And the customers, go about some odd behavior, for example: hiding of their shame of the branding going " super bad mclovin' wh'oaaaahhhhh there Haole from Hawaii " kinda toxic the customers' replacing the original branding with _the competitions' branding_, yes, different brands from _different_ competition's, level of this $80k+ MAJOR purchase is.. shameful.

I don't believe I have EVER seen this happen in ANY industry. Have you?🤦🤦‍♂️🤦🤦‍♂️

  3. At an audio level, the #SonosAce headphones are really very good... but there are some odd omissions in Sonos' first crack at premium headphones. Here's my full video and text review!

If you've ever wanted to know why electrons behave in some odd ways, it's because they don't have "spin" like a basketball, they are spin*ors*.

This video doesn't feel long so I recommend watching it in one go. It has fun lines like "A wiggle is homotopic to an octopus" 🐙

But more importantly, it gave me a better understanding on SO(3) vs SU(2) rotations (in 3D or embedded in quaternions).

This leads to the Pauli Exclusion principle in chemistry

  9. @weaselshit #Siyuan Cons:

    - Very small user base in the languages I can read/understand
    - No stream of journal entries like Logseq
    - Almost too many icons? Too many separate menu items?
    - Some odd UX choices (esp media embeds), and jumpy popups when hovering to the left of blocks
    - I kind of miss being able to go into edit mode by selecting a block in Logseq. This app is very much WYSIWYG

  10. @ZeKik I was a nobody on Twitter outside of the political gambling world. It;'s kind of weird having 300 some odd followers. I have a bit more pressure about not spamming boring shit. The nice thing about Mastodon is it's more about medium sized accounts than big accounts.
I would take 300 followers over 3,000-30,000 followers anyd ay. A lot of the major #weirdcartwitter accounts had to deal with so much bullshit.

  11. #CrossBorderRail #AberdeenToBielefeld first leg done: I cycled from Bridge of Don to Union Station on a folding bike at night with a bright yellow suitcase (matches the jacket!) strapped onto the luggage rack. It definitely got me some odd looks from the partying students.

The new Caledonian Sleeper seated accommodation is really good!

  12. Yesterday's merienda: ginataang mais.

This was reserved for the rainy days, but for some odd reason, I forgot to cook this during those weeks of nonstop downpour.

  17. For something a bit different. The penny arcade at Echuca was a bit of fun. Strength tests, guessing machines, games and some odd animations.

  19. @WizardOfDocs I often livetweet #sounders matches and even sometimes #olreign and #tacomastars matches. I've got a list of 50 some odd sounders fans on Mastodon. that I #ff'ed a week or so ago. There's even a writer for the #SBNation local club soccer blog on here.

Tried to push my SG #ecs to leave Twitter but it started a huge knock-down-drag-out shitstorm and now I'm on their shitlist. 🤷‍♂️

  20. Regarding a 2-compartment model of mine (subcutaneous depot, plasma) a few clin pharm people are offering some odd complaints that a subQ depot isn't actually 'a compartment' "by convention". Is this view actually a thing? Is there some history behind it anyone could illuminate? Or is it just BS? #pharmacometrics @justinwilkins @francois_mercier @IDPharmacometrx @Sjtpharm
