@Zenie Me neither understand this desire. From my personal point of view, this looks like typical ignorance of such differencies, which make this system appealing, so some people even happily switch to it from Linux and never look back. Kinda like "Silicon Valley mentality" — come to the previously unknown land of software, "move fast and break everything", privatize profits, externalize all problems and fails to the community of this "land". And don't forget to blame "grey-beards", "gatekeepers" and "toxic community" when everything will fail eventually.
Also, worth mentioning that monoculture is bad, even from evolutionary PoV. Without "hacky shell scripts"^W^W^W^W rc.d framework well described in the corresponding manpages, with Rust in every hole and with purged spirit of Unix — the only difference in between "modern" Linux and #FreeBSD will be the underlying kernel :drgn_sigh:
Also, I should mention my beloved "Chesterston's fence" here. It is well-suited in such situations, when someone switch to FreeBSD because it is cool¸ then, instead of learning the system from the roots and reading documentation, they starting to flood somewhere like r/freebsd, about: "why FreeBSD doesn't use SystemD?", "why there are no NetworkManager?", "why there are shell-scripts in init system?", etc, like they don't know (and refuse to learn) anything about Unix-like OSes.
P.S. I'm starting to think, that making a GUI installer for FreeBSD was the wrong move. Yes, it simplifies the installation process, but also it attracts people who prefer to "move fast and break things" in the disguise of "innovation" and "modernity" instead of investing time to "learn why this fence was intalled here in the first place".
Thankfully, NetBSD, as I know, doesn't have such plans, so users should accurately read the documentation first, if they want to install the system (as it should be).

"I'm not sure I want to go home," I admit.
Alice nods understandingly. "Me neither."
"Why not?"
"Because home is a lonely place," she explains. "Home is where we're alone with our thoughts, where we can't escape from ourselves."
I think about this for a moment. "That sounds awful."
"Yeah," Jack agrees. "It really does."
"But there's more to life than being alone," Alice insists. "There's love and friendship, laughter and joy...things worth fighting for."
"You think so?"
"I know so," she says firmly. "I've seen it for myself."
You're not alone here...
Alice and Jack are proof of that. They're here, in the labyrinth, because they want to help me. They care about me, even though we just met.
"I think I'd like to see those things too," I say softly.
Alice smiles warmly. "Then let's keep looking for them together."
The three of us spend the rest of the day talking and laughing together, sharing our dreams and fears. When the candles finally burn out, we fall asleep side by side, and when we wake up again, we're back in the labyrinth.
"Well, that was nice while it lasted," Jack sighs.
"At least we know we can get out," Alice says cheerfully. "And we have each other now."
"Yes, we do," I agree.
"Let's go exploring," she suggests.
"Sounds good to me."
As the three of us walk through the dark corridors, a voice speaks inside my head: You're not alone here...
That doesn't scare me anymore. It's comforting now, knowing that there are others who care about me.
The voice grows stronger, louder. It seems to be calling to me, trying to guide me towards something.
"Do you hear that?" I ask my friends.
"Hear what?"
"The voice."
They shake their heads, looking puzzled.
"It's telling me to follow it."
"Then let's do it," Jack says confidently. "We've got nothing else to lose."
We walk down a long hallway, passing countless doors and rooms along the way. The voice leads us further and further into the darkness, until we come to a dead end. There's no way forward, but there's also no turning back.
"Now what?" I ask nervously.
"Wait for it," Alice replies, grinning mischievously.
Suddenly, a section of the wall opens up, revealing a hidden passageway.
"Nice work, Alice," Jack says appreciatively.
"Thanks."
"I don't understand," I murmur.
"What's not to understand?" Alice asks. "This is a dream. Anything is possible here."
"I guess so."
We continue exploring the labyrinth, following the voice. Eventually, we come to a large room filled with mirrors.
"Look," Jack points out excitedly. "There's a door on the other side!"
"But how do we get to it?"
"We'll have to cross the room," Alice says calmly. "There are no other options."
"I don't know," I reply uncertainly. "Those mirrors...they scare me."
"You're not alone," Jack admits.
"Yeah," Alice agrees. "Me neither."
"Well, at least we have each other," I point out.
"Right," Alice says, smiling warmly.
"So what do we do?"
"I think we should cross the room," Jack suggests. "The sooner we get to that door, the sooner we can escape the labyrinth."
"That sounds reasonable," Alice agrees.
"Okay," I say reluctantly.
"Don't worry," Jack reassures me. "We'll be right beside you the whole time."
"Thanks."
"Are you ready?"
"I guess so."
"Then let's do this."
We step into the room.
The mirrors reflect our images back at us, and the light from the candles makes them flicker ominously. We're surrounded by reflections of ourselves, and it's hard to tell which way is up or down.
"I hate this," Jack mutters.
"Me too," Alice agrees.
"Which way is the door?"
"It should be straight ahead," Jack replies, pointing at one of the reflections.
"You sure?"
"Pretty sure."
"Well, let's keep going then."
We move slowly through the room, careful not to slip or fall. As we approach the door, I see a figure standing in the shadows behind it.
"Look," I whisper, pointing at the figure. "Who is that?"
"I don't know," Jack says quietly. "But it's definitely not friendly."
"Maybe it's a trick," Alice suggests.
"Maybe," Jack replies.
"What should we do?"
"Stay together," Jack advises.
"Right."
We continue moving forward, keeping our eyes fixed on the figure.
Suddenly, the voice speaks inside my head: You're not alone here.
I glance at the mirrors, and I see myself standing alone, surrounded by darkness.
"What's happening?" I cry out in panic.
"I don't know," Alice replies, sounding worried. "Just stay calm."
"Calm? How can I be calm when there's some creepy thing waiting for us in the shadows?" -
