Turns out, that this energy use of roughly 300 kWh over a period of 8 weeks amounts to driving 1600 km in my electric car - which is roughly what I actually drive in 8 weeks. Just to put that into perspective ... 🤡 🤦

Bin dann heute morgen mit 5 % Restakku und Restreichweitenanzeige (ein kleines Risiko) und diversen "Bitte bald Laden" Warnungen bergab ins Büro losgefahren.
Dort mit 6 % und nach 398 km seit der Vollladung in Österreich sicher angekommen.
Sicherlich sind 400 km Reichweite für den #R4 sehr nahe am Optimum und nicht für jeden Fahrstil erreichbar. Aber schon irgendwie cool soweit zu kommen.

All in all, the electric rental car did cost 9.06€ Cent per km driven (just the recharge costs). This includes some expensive chargers, as well as some free charging.
In contrast, the gasoline car was 10.85€ Cent per km.
Driving an electric car was even cheaper!

The 60 kWh battery in the Mégane needs about 26 hours for a full charge, at around 125€.

We're going from Málaga to Gibraltar.
It's only about 150 km, not a long distance, and we won't need to charge along the way. We plan to drive along the coast to see the sea.

The hotel in Málaga has charging stations (for a fee) in the underground parking garage. Plug in the car, check in int the hotel, and go to dinner.
After dinner, the car is fully charged and I park it in a different spot.

Theoretically, we could have made it this far with the remaining charge and wouldn't have needed to charge in #Murcia.
However, we didn't know beforehand where we would stop for lunch. We left that question open.

The actual lunch stop is at the Área de Servicio La Parada Puerto Lumbreras. There are also fast chargers here, and by the time we've finished eating, the car is fully charged.

Next to us, a Volvo FH Electric is charging with 350 kWh (according to the display). The truck has a range of around 300 km, and is almost fully charged already.
I wanted to talk to the driver and hear about his experience with the truck, but didn't get the chance.

In #Valencia, we find out that the charging stations in the Westin Hotel underground parking garage are free.
The car will charge until after dinner, then I'll move it.
