The first book I read out loud without (a lot) of help was
Crosspatch, written and illustrated by Helen and Alf Evers. I loved that the word cross not only meant intersecting lines but it also meant angry. I loved the way the
cross was echoed on the cover art. I suppose this was serious foreshadowing of my future career! Find this little book for your kids. It stands the test.
