All these were taken at F16 with the flash units at -3.0. The achromat gives what should be a fixed focal length, but autofocus seems still to work within narrow limits.
It's great for snapping moths at rest or at night. Tracking more active insects is harder with fixed focus, but this #AssassinBug (which was scampering around on the wall) came out well enough to support an #iNaturalist observation. I'm pretty sure the species is Ectomocoris binotatus.

Here is my breakdown of a month of using the Nikon Z6 mirrorless full-frame camera.
+ Faster autofocus performance
+ Better performance in low light and higher ISOs
+ Fantastic video performance with 4K/30fps, even with DX lenses
+ In-body stabilisation helped me nail shots with lower shutter speeds without blur
+ Fantastic lenses available for the system, the S line in particular are amazing (even the entry level kit lenses)
- Only takes one XQD/CFExpressB card, they aren't cheap
- Not the best for continuous shooting compared to more expensive cameras
- DX mode only yields 10MP pictures so not ideal for crop photos
- Most Z lenses are quite expensive with a few exceptions -
Here is MeerKAT itself. Unfortunately the telescope was working, so I was not allowed to turn my camera on any nearer than this, for fear of electrical noise from the autofocus motors blowing the sensitive receivers!

The weather was quite good at that weekend, much compared to now, so the giant oversized 600mm lens for once had a working autofocus. :p They have a whole capybara family now! A bit larger already, never caught them when younger.
There is also the ultimate meerkat cuddle pile. Wasn't that hot at the day so they all fought over that one sunny spot and... I guess just gave up and decided that all of them claimed it.
Aaand, a real photo of a real striped hyena! They murdered all the vegetation so for once you could see them. Didn't bother sleeping with head towards the viewing area so enjoy some striped hyena butt. Didn't move either for whole time. Maybe it was a decoy hyena plushie after all.

I'm sorting through the pictures from yesterday's fall color drive with the local MG and Jaguar clubs. They're mostly a mess because I had my autofocus on a setting that delivered a bunch of pictures with the focus on my Jaguar's hood, not the cars in front of me. But this was cool.

After years of using either small mirrorless cameras or big full-frame DSLRs, I needed reach and autofocus for an indoor sports event today and the only camera that could provide me with both is my ancient Pentax K20D DSLR. Autofocus kinda sucks, the sensor is noisy and has a limited dynamic range, but ohboy, it's handling is just absolutely AMAZING!
People at Pentax really knew how to design a camera, the camera feels like it was made for my hands.
