Well as #ChristmasFilms go #AMerryChristmasMatch (2019) is no gem. It has some nice moments, but the script over all has too many flaws and felt episodic. The cast’s acting is fine, but not especially good. Not a #ChristmasMovie for the repeat-list.

@SallyKent Perhaps more apropos is that the #UKgov claim folk on ‘ #LegacyBenefits ‘ could not be given any #Covid19-support, unlike able-bodied citizens, because their computer-system couldnæ cope, is arguably untrue: they could have upped the #ChristmasPayment from £10 to an annualised equivalent. Ditto in re making a one-off payment for extra #energy costs, which again fit & healthy folk receive, but long-term #disabled &/or sick do not!

Watched the first 25 minutes , i.e. one third, of #VengeanceMostFowl and I am not impressed thus far. I normally love #WallaceAndGromit. This offering, thus far, is predictable, too slow and not at all funny. Housemate managed to watch the whole thing and did not LOL once. We periodically view the whole œuvre and laugh even though we have seen dozens of times. This latest film feels somehow recycled. I read that the film has been lauded. Are we the only two fans who are not so keen?

@Sapiophielle My fave #ChristmasFilm is #TheChristmasGift (1986) with inter alia #JohnDenver (only two songs I think and his acting is not great), #JaneKaczmarek & #MaryWickes. It is schmaltzy - no denying - but there is some drama involving a lost child in a blizzard. Also, imo, a few good laughs. And the romance aspect is not over-played like many more recent #ChristmasMovies. High Art it is not; but great for the feels! 🎄🎬

I keep forgetting to share my fave version of #SilentNight / #StilleNacht. It is sung in #Navajo and was used in the #ChristmasFilm / #ChristmasMovie “Christmas in the Clouds” (2001), which itself starred a mostly Navajo cast.

In 1978 the mini-series #WashingtonBehindClosedDoors (1977) was broadcast in UK, and I developed a man-crush on the character of William Martin! Ha ha ha Some will recall CR’s rôle as #UncleBen in the noughties’ #Spiderman saga.

This is the third time & third year I have viewed this #ChristmasFilm. #ChristmasRomanceAlDente aka #ATasteOfChristmas (2020) has something for everyone. The secondary romance is just as strong as the primary. The acting from mains & supports is great. I laughed out loud so much. A really fun film. However, the restaurant set is appalling - not enough seats & tables for 32 - a real eatery would go bust! #ChristmasMovie
