The next issue of The End will contain at least 18 fiction podcasts that have either reached a season finale or the series conclusion. Wow! And we still have a full day to collect more.
A big chunk of those will be in the New Seasons Coming Soon section, where 7 titles will be listed rather than the normal 2–3. And, looking ahead at my dataset, that'll be the norm for a while. And if all these shows who told me they were coming back in October actually do that, it'll be even bigger.

One of the things I don't really enjoy but still get a kick out of is watching the unsubscribed come in the week following when an audio fiction creator was highlighted in my newsletter, The End.
It's like "I saw my listing, and I'm done with this shit😄
But that has the unexpected upside of making the list of a higher quality by weeding out the creators who aren't also listeners.
It's taken me a while, but I'm good with that.

I recently completed Peal River Remains, which bills itself as a narrated southern gothic ghost story. But that's probably because it's hard to fit this one into a neat and tidy little box.
Contrary to popular belief, not all of the shows I listen to need to be perfect. Like this show, with such a compelling story, very subtle use of "ghost" (I'd say urban fantasy or weird brain powers), and compelling voice of the narrator taking you right there; you quickly ignore the production imperfections.
I'll feature it in a future issue of The End, the weekly newsletter that shines a light back on audio fiction shows after they've reached the finale of a season or the conclusion of the series.
