Hello creatures and beings of the Fedilands!
I come to you with a request—or perhaps an offer, depending on how you choose to see it. A few months ago, I released a small audio-drama project based on three short fantasy stories I had written. At the time, I asked whether any of you might be interested in lending your voices to the endeavor. What I did not anticipate was the sheer wave of feedback and enthusiasm that followed its release.
There was, however, a shadow over that first incarnation. The project was born from a college writing class and bound tightly by length limits and an unforgiving timeline. Creative corners were cut. Wings were clipped before they could fully spread.
So now, encouraged by friends and kindred spirits, I have chosen to begin anew.
Blackwood Tales rises again.
The script for Episode One is complete, and Episode Two is already taking shape in the dark between the stars.
And now we come to the true meat and bones of this message. I am seeking collaborators of all kinds. Voice actors, composers, artists, and any wandering souls who feel the pull of this world. You are warmly invited. If the project calls to you, I would be delighted to speak and see where your talents might weave into the tapestry.

Did anyone else try out the Apple Voice Technology offered for free by Draft2Digital to produce audiobooks? I was amazed at how terrible and primitive the Apple Voice Technology actually is, considering what Apple is. Here's one clue about how terrible the technology is: I wrote a book in 2023 under the pen name N.J. Edwards. The computer-generated male voice introduced the audiobook this way: "This is an audiobook by author New Jersey Edwards. Granted, New Jersey Edwards is a fantastic pen name. I wish I'd thought of it. But that is not the author's name on the front of my book. The audiobook of my novel BEER POUR is so atrocious that there's actual computer code jibberish spoken in the middle of a dialogue scene. I could go on and on about all the flaws, but there's not enough room here. It's about a woman divorcing an awful husband who's trying to start a new life from scratch. On the worst day of her life, she is taken in by two hot Daddy Doms who are best friends and run a sex club together. And she promptly falls in love with them both!
It's hands down one of the best-written books I've ever had the pleasure to narrate. It has a big heart. It's genuinely funny. It has a plot! The romantic tension between the leads is fabulous. And the sex scenes absolutely sizzle.
If you're looking for a polyamory-themed gift for someone special in your life, this is a wonderful book!
It's also a book that listeners constantly tell me that they love even though they don't think of themselves as romance fans.
