  1. The Theatre Royal on Drury Lane carries a lodger who never bought a seat. A tall gentleman in a grey cloak and powdered wig walks the Upper Circle and, at one unbroken stretch of wall, steps forward and is gone. A good omen to the company. A man was walled up there in 1848, a knife in his ribs. I cannot say the one is the other. I can say the tale has held together for a century and a half. bakerstreetholmes.substack.com

  3. “THE OPEN DOOR… explores the borders between the natural physical world and the spiritual one. Like many of Oliphant’s ghost stories, it is about a past which refuses to be silent and a modernity which refuses to listen to it.”

  8. I rewatched my first scary movie of the season this afternoon, the 2012 version of The Woman in Black.

I love ghost movies, and this one had a nice twist in the end. 👻
