PSK1000RC2 in #FLdigi with #FLamp seems to store and retrieve data to/from a cassette deck pretty well. So, you can use that to store some data, I suppose. Repeat the transmission multiple times on the tape to ensure you have more chances to bypass damage, degradation, etc of the tape.

I am going to be digitizing a few dozen cassette tapes with spoken word for a client. I still have 2 pieces of hardware that can play them, I just haven't put a tape in any of them for probably 15 years. Should I take any precautions before putting the invaluable tapes in and hitting play? I should probably do a test run with a tape I can afford to be destroyed in case something somewhere got stuck...
