Dreading the January onslaught of messages demanding that you “fix” your body so it conforms to an unrealistic ideal based on racism?
Interested in hearing from under-represented voices in public health that share different messages?
Announcing the Shared Stories Society!
Starting January 16 join me online Friday afternoons from 3-4:30pm Pacific Time for “media club”. This program invites participants to explore under represented voices in public health. We will examine books, zines, and more across the year. Each session will include time for grounding and self-reflection in addition to group discussion of the materials.
January through February we’ll be reading Aubrey Gordon’s book, “What We Don’t Talk About When We Talk About Fat”, and learn how anti-fat bias harms not only fat people, but thin people as well.
While this is listed as being for adults 60+, if you’re an adult younger than 60 and want to participate, please sign up anyway! We’ve officially expanded it to 40+, but if this is what you need and over 20, consider joining, just know the conversation may be biased to post-menopausal people.

Du willst also, dass ich (und andere) ihr Verhalten ändern, ergo bist du derjenige, der Überzeugungsarbeit durch Beweise für die Sinnhaftigkeit liefern muss.

Dreading the derby. I'm not from Newcastle, but I picked them as my team when I was 6 when shearer signed. I'm from Norfolk and somehow managed to marry the only girl in the entire county who's a Sunderland fan. All her family are mackems.
Luckily they're not that into football but I still can't be dealing with losing today!!
Everything that Sunderland is good at aligns with our weaknesses. Late goals, direct football and set pieces etc.

By the way: My players were two of the other regular game masters, whom I rarely get to play with, one person I had never played with before (who had only come because of #dread), and one player who came by to connect with wargamers (who weren't there) and spontaneously joined us for his FIRST #TTRPG EVER 😲 He seemed to have quite an intense experience and a lot of fun 😁
