Yes, #dreadful as you say.
I would argue though that most people outside the IT world don't know what tailscale is. I'd wish the likable tailscales & co. would consider your/our viewpoint. Average people may use metas, googles ... but I'm not sure if it's unavoidable.
Not trying to #whitewash. Perhaps saying to myself, I do have a choice to use #mastodon over #x (yz)(abc), for example.
