  2. Never underestimate a developer's need to put their own little stamp on things and to make themselves smile.

I create and use a lot of shell scripts in my work. I start each script with:

    echo Reticulating splines...

    and end it with:

echo Your hovercraft is full of eels.

Most of these scripts will only ever be used by me, but I still do it.

  3. 1. Heading up to our farm workers' bunkhouse as soon as we wake up, to have a catch-up while the dogs roll in the grass and the chickens wander round us pecking in the dirt.

    2. Running some trains on my little test layout while consistently failing to find the time to build my "proper" layout.

    3. A call from a former client may result in a project for a new client.

  4. @[email protected] Israel is a rogue state and the rest of the world needs to be censuring it not partnering with it.

  6. Aargh. My @pop_os_official saga takes a different turn...

I use a legacy desktop app called to control my model railway. It's clunky and the UI is awful but it's the only tool that does the job.

Unfortunately it won't play nice with high density displays and won't display properly on . So I have to revert to 6 because of its fractional scaling abilities. Bye @pop_os , hello .
