@flamingradian So, I gave a shot to "just" enabling the compose key: https://git.allpurposem.at/mat/unfettered-keyboard/commit/81ed9bd4b91a60dc30498412deb3354555bf0c81
As expected, it is more complicated than that. WAYLAND_DEBUG=1 shows me the key event is going through, but it doesn't seem to have any actual effect (can't compose any sequences). I suspect more handling is needed on the keyboard side, or perhaps a change in the keymap/layout, but I am super out of my depth with #xkb
Shot in the dark, maybe I know someone who can help?

Jhee, is there really no GUI editor for creating XKB layouts that can be easily built or installed in 2023?
https://github.com/vgresak/keyboard-layout-editor
https://github.com/simos/keyboardlayouteditor
Maybe I should try to write a #nix package for one of them? Maybe that's too hard for a newbie like me.
Note I want to thoroughly customize the layout (including dead keys etc), not just swap a couple of keys.
Can this be done with xmodmap?Note that I have a Windows version of the layout that I created.

- RCTRL + gt = "greater than"
- RCTRL + lt = "less than" -
PR / merge filed for updated #Baybayin and #Filipino keyboard layouts in #Linux (and other new layouts).
