As expected, it is more complicated than that. WAYLAND_DEBUG=1 shows me the key event is going through, but it doesn't seem to have any actual effect (can't compose any sequences). I suspect more handling is needed on the keyboard side, or perhaps a change in the keymap/layout, but I am super out of my depth with #xkb

Shot in the dark, maybe I know someone who can help?

Just spent about an hour on an #xkb config for to remap some Alt- and Meta- combos to ëË, ýÝ, and àÀ. My keyboard now combines German, French, and Albanian symbols on a US #colemak layout. I will not apologize. 😁

My keyboard configuration stopped working with a recent upgrade from #Debian Stable (Bookworm) to Testing (#Trixie).

It turns out that the options "grp:shift_toggle" no longer works, and I now have to use its proper name: "grp:shifts_toggle".

Ich nutze gern mein #split #keyboard Mistel MD770RGB im ANSI-Layout, aber konfiguriert als ISO-DE.
Einziger Nachteil: Die fehlende "<>|"-Taste neben dem LSHIFT.
Lösung: COMPOSE-Key auf die (wirklich überflüssige) RCTRL-Taste mit #vim -like keycodes:

- RCTRL + vl = "vertical line"
- RCTRL + gt = "greater than"
- RCTRL + lt = "less than"
