- make direwolf config folder
- I chose
/Users/Matt/direwolf
- I chose
- download paracon: https://github.com/mfncooper/paracon/releases/
- put into direwolf config folder
Configure Stuff
- update
direwolf.confwith call sign, name of audio devices, and PTT setupADEVICE "USB Audio Device" "USB Audio Device"- Those are actual names, not placeholders

New #X6100 on its way, to replace the one that was lost in transit.
USPS was prompt in saying "we never got the package".
ACI Logistix has a "help me" form but did not provide a prompt reply to my query.
#radioddity dispatched a new shipment once I got confirmation from USPS that they didn't have the package, with the understanding that if the first order does eventually get delivered I'll send it back.
Ham radio is a hobby with lots of side quests, did not expect logistics to be one.

I made my own version of K3NG's Arduino CW keyer. Using an Arduino Nano. All components were sourced from AliExpress. The PCB was designed in KiCad. It will be used to key the Xiegu X6100 during next Region 1 CW fieldday.

I sat on a #Xiegu #x6100 for the first time these days. It's crazy, with a little patience you can operate it just like that, without instructions. It's not an ingenious user interface, but simply much less confusing than anything #icom builds. Not to mention the bizarre menus of a #yaesu ;-) #hamradio #xiegu6100

Dang it, the Xiegu #x6100 firmware update 1.1.7 seemed cool with wfview and lan audio streaming (couldn't get it to work though, may well be my fault or not) but while adding wfview, it broke USB CAT control which is unacceptable. I could control the rig via ethernet, wfview & rigctl but it never transmitted any audio even though tx mode triggered fine. Conclusion: reinstalled fw 1.1.6 and USB CAT worked like magic again. Won't be upgrading again untill it's confirmed wfview & USB CAT both work.
