  1. New #X6100 on its way, to replace the one that was lost in transit.

USPS was prompt in saying "we never got the package".

ACI Logistix has a "help me" form but did not provide a prompt reply to my query.

#radioddity dispatched a new shipment once I got confirmation from USPS that they didn't have the package, with the understanding that if the first order does eventually get delivered I'll send it back.

Ham radio is a hobby with lots of side quests, did not expect logistics to be one.

  6. I didn't get back quickly enough and didn't make it to the attic for the big antenna. But the picture is better than I expected for a cheap handheld radio with rubber antenna :-) #ARISS_SSTV #sstv #iss #robot36 #Radioddity

  7. There is a mailing list for the #Xiegu #X6200 a new radio via #radioddity that builds on the previous generation #X6100

    groups.io/g/xiegu-x6200

So far early reports have uncovered lots of small issues, many of which sound to my ear like they could be fixed in firmware, but collectively sounding pretty awkward.

It looks like @greppy has been having some #pota fun with it per technomage.net/2024/06/the-x62

  12. Radioddity is teasing a Xiegu X6200, and there's a groups.io mailing list

    groups.io/g/xiegu-x6200

alas the groups.io list has 100 members already so it's closed to new members (until it gets a paid subscription, I guess) and the archives are also closed so it's not really a source of information.

  17. @ARISS_Intl

    I use #Gpredict under #Linux and #Look4Sat under #android

and I also use the follow firmware on GD77 & RT3s with GPS

The #OpenGD77 firmware for the #Radioddity #GD77 is good, has voice prompts AOS, does doppler, polar view etc

The OpenGD77 firmware has added to support extra hardware like TYT MD-UV380 / UV390 / Retevis RT-3S

  18. Okay, #HamRadio Mastodon, I have a question that I apparently need handholding to answer:

    I have a #Radioddity #GD88 that I want to use to send #DMR SMS msgs to #SMSGTE.

I have DMR working. I have a #PiStar working and comms with #BrandMeister.

What specific steps do I need to take to actually get this thing to correctly send a DMR SMS to my phone?

Also trying to get #APRS text messaging working, but that seems like it might be a missing feature, not a lack of understanding.

  19. First time in the field with my new #Xiegu #G90 from #radioddity. Received several comments on great audio quality and broke through a couple of pileups (or at least got lucky) with only 20W. Impressed! Can't argue with that view from the op position.
