  1. Yesterday I built a small, narrow workbench with high sides and integral shelving to serve as an electronics workbench for project prototyping, assembly, wiring, and (de)soldering.

It's built entirely out of recycled pine shelving board from an old friend's mudroom bookshelves.

The shelves have a lot of memories associated with them, so it is good to have something made from them in my environment.

  4. I'm disappointed in the performance of a makeshift #crochet with my pull saws for ripping wood. Without a wedge and a clamp, there's not enough material to hold a workpiece.

Tried with a small piece that can turn on an axis: A board could be fastened in another place and that might help.

Still I wonder what low roman #workbenches might have used to hold a board for ripping so that its thickness is halved?

  9. Using a dog peg as a camera mount is probably not what the workbench designers intended, but I think it will work reasonably well.

That recently ended with my latest project over the last two weekends - organizing most of my tools on a pegboard. It's a work in progress, but I can already tell it's going to make a huge difference. #workbenches #DadLife #DIY
