Napisałam rzecz o starym (tak, niestety, już starym!) wampirycznym filmie 🥰
"Znakomita większość popkulturowego fandomu opisuje Królową potępionych z 2001 roku następująco: sam film to porażka, ale muzykę ma dobrą. Choć nie zamierzam się z tą oceną kłócić, uważam ją za nieco redukcyjną – wbrew pozorom w tej adaptacji Anne Rice dzieje się całkiem sporo ciekawych rzeczy.
Zanim jednak to tego przejdziemy, pochylmy się przez chwilę nad kategorią filmowego sukcesu. Co sprawia, że dane dzieło kinematografii jest udane? Czy chodzi o nabicie odpowiedniej sumy w box office? Spełnienie artystycznych oczekiwań widzów? A może o wątki, które potem skłaniają do przemyśleń lub coś ujawniają – czy to o świecie, czy o nas samych?"

I watched Queen of the Damned for the first time since it came out. It's not a very good movie, but it's not all bad. It feels like a time capsule of goth fashion from the time and I enjoy the musical score. I had a hard time believing the whole Jessica/Talamasca storyline. Such a shame about Aaliyah. She was only getting started when her life was cut short. #QueenOfTheDamned #movies #HorrorMovies

The Comic Jam Hawaii Drink & Draw theme was "Vampires." I was torn between Amylin and Akasha. So I polled folks on various social media. Akasha won (9 votes to 5 votes). So here's my Queen of the Damned. I had to simplify the costume a lot to get it done on time, so don't look too hard at it. :D
