  1. Ah yes, 🌟 #Astro, the supposed messiah of web frameworks that promises to make developers weep tears of joy. According to our hero, it's the holy grail for anyone sick of WordPress 🤮. But really, who knew stripping down to absolutely nothing could be so revolutionary? 🚀✨

  2. 🚀 Wow, Internet! Another thrilling deep dive into the captivating world of redundant #security protocols! 🙄 Turns out, we need a thousand words to explain why #CSRF and #CORS are still around, but don't worry—it's just as riveting as watching paint dry. 🎨 Spoiler: web frameworks already have it covered, but hey, let's invent problems! 🤦‍♂️

  3. ❓ Hey Masto, I got a #webdev and #greenIT question for you.

    I have worked with Python/Django and PHP/Symfony for 15 years.

    🌱 I'm deeply concerned about the tech environmental footprint, so I want to learn a new stack that requires less energy from servers.

    Based on this (thenewstack.io/which-programmi), and on the fact that my skills are mainly OOP and I like full-featured #webframeworks , I'm considering Go/Gin or Java/SpringBoot.

    Do you have any advice/feedback? Is this even a good idea?

  4. As @baldur explained in a great blog post a while back, most professional software tools are designed for Taylorization. Reducing technical workers to more easily replacable units in software production lines.

    For similar reasons, most web development frameworks are optimized for "enterprise use". A euphemism for the giant, highly centralised, DataFarming platforms we come here to avoid.

  5. Nice UI you got there . I will never miss a chance to laugh at Spotify.

  6. I'm sitting down to learn the Nette PHP framework. A Czech product that honestly looks pretty darn good. The database library feels a little limited compared to other options, but I can work around that.

  14. Build your projects in Crystal

    Frameworks simplify web developer tasks by offering standardized design and development conventions. Choose from a list of web frameworks to build Crystal projects and contribute to the community.

    Each one comes with its pros and cons. If you get stuck or have any questions, please raise it on the Crystal forum🙂 !

  15. Also this was another reason to not have F# bits today
    I was playing today with fsharp's Saturn Framework's Channels (web sockets) and modifying a little bit the htmx's web socket extension to work them it didn't require a lot of changes
    originally I was going to post something related to F# + Web Sockets but I got caught up and was not able to put it out

  16. I got so fed up while studying #WebFrameworks this weekend that I think I might do the "unthinkable": make my own framework!

    Basically, I want something that's just the right balance of simple, powerful and extensible.

    I'm almost surely going to use #golang

    I do have some weird requirements around
    - language (e.g. different UI and content language, user's gramatical gender), and
    - anonymous users (e.g. geo blocking and rate limiting)
    - multiple mirrors (and ideally TOR hidden services as well)
    - decent documentation (seriously #AspNetCore, why do you hide almost everything?)

    Let's see how well that turns out of I ever get to actually build this thing.

  17. 2022 has seen a welcome shift of the needle towards #webframeworks that work with the core principles of the web rather than fight against them.

    My brief thoughts on a year of using #remixrun and exploring @enhance_dev with more purpose.

  18. I had a great time hanging with @macdonst Head of Developer Experience at Begin, on my Twitch stream recently.

    We reminisced about the web and did a deep dive into Enhance, enhance.dev, a web standards-based HTML framework.

    Thanks again for hanging Simon!

  19. Fastify is a fast and low overhead web framework, for Node.js

    fastify.io/

    If you are more into REST app, you might want Restify:

    restify.com/

    If you want to keep it safe, you might want express

    expressjs.com/

    For a web sockets server, you might want socket.io:

    socket.io/

    #JavaScript #NodeJs #WebFrameworks #libraries #REST #WebSockets

  20. There has to be a middle ground between

    var anchorItem = document.createElement("a") as HTMLAnchorElement;
    anchorItem.href = "#";
    anchorItem.addEventListener("click", function (ev) { console.log(ev) });
    var listItem = document.createElement('li') as HTMLLIElement;

    and full #WebFrameworks like React and Mithril.

    #WebDev
    #JavaScript
    #TypeScript

    Please boost, I'd like to find an answer to this one.

  21. I moved to #Astoria, #Queens, #NYC a couple months ago and I'd love to meet local people in the neighborhood that are into #webdevelopment #coding #programming #opensource. If you, or someone you know lives in the NYC area and would be interested in taking about the state of #Deno / #typescript / #webframeworks please connect us.
