A medida que fui avanzando con el software, también se fue definiendo el hardware, y hoy llegó el momento de dar un paso importante: empezar el diseño del PCB prototipo de mi Timbre Escolar Inteligente.

El proyecto ya viene tomando forma con la lógica de control, la interfaz web y la comunicación por WebSocket, y ahora toca materializar esas ideas en una placa pensada para ser más ordenada, compacta y confiable.

Este tipo de avances son los que más me entusiasman, porque transforman una idea de software en un sistema completo, listo para iterar, probar y mejorar.

Próximo paso: comenzar el ruteo del PCB y preparar la primera versión física del prototipo.

Всем привет! Меня зовут Тарас, я автор библиотеки picows — ультрабыстрых вебсокетов для asyncio . В этой статье я расскажу, почему вообще появилась ещё одна библиотека для вебсокетов, покажу результаты бенчмарков и заодно порассуждаю о производительности в asyncio. Предистория В далёком-предалёком 2021 году мне довелось поучаствовать в разработке алготрейдинг-платформы для криптовалютных бирж. Выбор языка пал на Python из-за разнообразия ML-библиотек, возможность быстро собирать прототипы и проверять идеи, отсутствия этапа компиляции и в целом наличия богатой экосистемы. Если какая-то идея взлетит, критичный участок всегда можно оптимизировать, хотя бы частично переписав его на C/C++/Cython.

A quick demonstration of using the State: Overview page in Kitten’s¹ settings while developing to keep an eye on your event and event listener counts to avoid memory leaks.

Notice how the events and listeners counts change as I navigate between the People and Settings pages in my Place² node and that they are consistent. If they were rising as I navigated back and forth I’d know I had a memory leak somewhere.

If you use Kitten’s built-in features (e.g., the `addEventHandler()` method on your `kitten.Component` subclasses, Kitten will handle adding and removing listeners for you automatically during your component’s lifecycle. You can also do so manually in your component’s automatically-called `onConnect()` and `onDisconnect()` event handlers.

This view is useful during development to ensure you don’t have any memory leaks as pages are loaded and unloaded.

Pretty soon, you’re going to be able to view your live pages and the events on them in real time while developing Kitten apps.

The improved component model with support for class-based routes (and a server-side component hiearchy that lets you build well-encapsulated components and pages and work in an event-driven way) is coming along nicely and I’m back to writing Place¹ using it.

(In the GIF, you’re looking at Place’s profile settings page. Not shown here but those profile changes reflect in realtime on all open pages. The highlighted piece of code is what streams the event details to the browser.)

Why don't we use HTTP/1's Upgrade mechanism to switch from #HTTP to another protocol like #SMTP or #IRC? Especially IRC, the only HTTP Upgrade related in #IRCv3 is #WebSockets. Why not do direct IRC for fun? I mean one of the examples in RFC 2616 section 14.42 is IRC/6.9! ​:satrithink:​
