  11. THE HBC BRIGADES: CULTURE, CONFLICT, AND THE PERILOUS JOURNEYS OF THE FUR TRADE [This book will be published by Ronsdale Press in May 2024].
The "harangue" was very much a part of the fur trade: part of the First Nations' culture adopted by the HBC men. Everyone harangued the First Nations, and the First Nations then harangued them back! #CanadaHistory #WAHistory #BCHistory #HistoricJourney #HBCBrigades nancymargueriteanderson.com/ha

The HBC Brigades from Fort Colvile travelled up and down the Kettle River, on their way to and from Fort Langley. But they had used this trail for many years as it led the men from the interior of #BritishColumbia to the Columbia River to the east. For the most part, it ran through British Territory, but it did dip, on occasion. south of the border. #HistoricJourney #BCHistory #WAHistory #Brigades #Blogpost nancymargueriteanderson.com/ke valley/

The Voyageurs always had a tradition to never start a journey on a Friday. It was really interesting to learn how this began -- because the reason for this tradition it is a little unexpected. Well, to me, anyway. #Voyageurs #CanadaHistory #WAHistory #Blogpost nancymargueriteanderson.com/vo
