Had issues with #UTM / #AVF and wanted to try #VMWareFusion as an alt. What should've been few clicks became 30m of fighting through the corporate jungle: Mandatory registration. Trying diff. emails. Defeating anti-paste password fields, captchas, license checkboxes. Cross-checking other sites to find the correct download. In the end, I lost the little trust I had in Broadcom and deleted it w/out installing. #virtualisation

It appears #Broadcom has restored #VMWareFusion update notifications. Unfortunately there no longer is automatic updates: You have to login to the asinine Broadcom support website and download the updates and install them manually.

To me Oracle was always the most customer hostile company but Broadcom has now taken over with flying colours.
For the moment I am doomed to use Vmware Fusion.
When you try to download the updated version from Broadcom’s site you get into an infinite loop of entering your details.
Solution: Go to Techspot and Download it there. One click and verify the checksums published on broadcom’s site.

#VMwareFusion You can't port forward the same port number on TCP/UDP to one VM.
I.e. 3389/TCP and 3389/UDP collide in VMware Fusion.
#Parallels Desktop supports this just fine.#Broadcom, fix your software.

Three strikes and its out. It looks like VMware's bridged networking is just too flaky. I now have two totally different VMs where the network goes deaf after some time. I'll try to use VirtualBox although I prefer VMware.
I should mention that the problem is only on my M4 Mac mini. My venerable 2012 mini runs a VMware VM without a problem.

I've seen articles re: 'free' copies of #VMwareWorkstation #VMwareFusion
- I haven't looked into this myself, but several of them implied 'free' customers would be required to create 'Broadcom accounts' in order to get the 'free' software...This also implies that 'free' customers will have to agree to a TOS that requires agreeing to allow #Broadcom to spy on you, granting Broadcom other rights, or waiving your own rights

I switched from #VMwareFusion to @parallels Pro to run @kalilinux on my #Mac. It's paid but it's definitely a better virtualisation product for Mac. The VM runs smoother and the integration with the host OS is better. #infosec
