Another question for the Fedi #Linux braintrust re: running #Ubuntu under #Parallels on #MacOS.
The Terminal app in MacOS has a super-helpful built-in feature: the size of the terminal window (in characters) is displayed in the window's title — 96 x 40 or whatever.
Any idea whether such magic is possible in Ubuntu's Terminal app? I remember from dim prehistoric times that Xterm had a bunch of escape sequence juju that controlled what went in the window title.

I also learned that Copy & Paste are wonky in the Parallels / Ubuntu environment. ⌘C and ⌘V work in Firefox to interoperate with the Mac clipboard. In Terminal it's shift-ctrl-C and shift-ctrl-V.

Got a newbie question re: running #Ubuntu under #Parallels on #MacOS.
I'm an experienced Linux (and Mac) user but things behave differently under virtualization. What shortcut keys (if any) work in virtualized Ubuntu for Close Window [or Tab] and Hide <application>? On Mac it's ⌘W and ⌘H respectively, but in the Ubuntu environment ⌘W does nothing and ⌘H is intercepted by Parallels and hides the app at that level.

@9to5Mac Seriously, if you are thinking about #virtualization, you are not the target audience for this #Mac. Also, it means you have the budget for a Parallels subscription and Windows licenses too. Even if its #Linux you want to run. If you need niche solutions like #Parallels, #MacBook Pro territory is where you should be treading. You don't even need the latest, just get a used M1 Max.
