I'm @[email protected] and this is the account where, I guess, I'll talk about - and maybe post pictures related to - my board game habits

Some games to which I more or less know the rules at this point, in no particular order: #TwilightStruggle, the shorter #TSRedSea, #ImperialStruggle, the excellent #BayonetsAndTomahawks produced by talented locals, #HereIStand, #VirginQueen, #PaxRenaissance, #PaxPamir, #Arcs, maybe #JohnCompany but I'm not certain, and at least the Breaking the Bismarck Barrier scenario of #EmpireOfTheSun (finally, a game with real hexes). I have played several COIN games but the one I like the most is #AndeanAbyss. I love #DominantSpecies. I'm starting to love #Nevsky

Definitely not a tabletop board game but I'm also a big fan of #CivilizationVI, e.g. #Civ6. More hexes!

Interested in playing more games with locals, connecting with other people in town, or playing with other places' locals when I'm out of town. Looking at you, Ontario

I don't use Facebook, Discord, or almost any spyware social media if I can help it - and I only use BoardgameGeek begrudgingly. Happy to be on wargamers.social now, I've been thinking about spinning up a more game-focused account for awhile but it's always been on the backburner 😀

Bei #EinFestFürOdin versuche ich immer noch rauszufinden wie man mehr als 70pkt macht. #BuBu, Ultimate Railroads (immer öfter über 300pkt!), #Azul und #Deus sind Dauerbrenner. Was diesen Monat ausgeflogen ist, ist Lewis & Clark - obwohl ich da Mal wieder Lust drauf hab 😁

Die Partie Elisabeth #VirginQueen und die 2 Partien #ImperialStruggle waren grandios. Ebenso wie Core Worlds ❤️

Bei #EinFestFürOdin versuche ich immer noch rauszufinden wie man mehr als 70pkt macht. #BuBu, Ultimate Railroads (immer öfter über 300pkt!), #Azul und #Deus sind Dauerbrenner. Was diesen Monat ausgeflogen ist, ist Lewis & Clark - obwohl ich da Mal wieder Lust drauf hab 😁

I fed our swarm colony yesterday and our original colony today. 🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝 #bees #beekeeping Turns out our swarm colony finally changed gears and they have started packing in the honey 🍯🍯...I saw two full frames yesterday. Trying not to disturb our original colony as the #VirginQueen should be having her mating flights right now. Will check on the colony again this coming Sunday! Fingers 🤞🏼 there is brood!

BIG update on the #QueenCell in the post at the top of the thread - it has HATCHED! Now of course I looked for the #VirginQueen, but couldn't find her. I did see one more larva in another queen cell though. I guess we wait 2 to 3 weeks and then watch 👀 for eggs? Meanwhile, we might transfer another frame of brood from the swarm hive to this one. #beekeeping #bees

So, part of our problem, as beginner #beekeepers, as we work to identify if our original hive is #queenless or has a #virginqueen or a badly mated queen or even a #dronelayingqueen, is we have a hard time being able to tell if there are eggs in the bottom of the cells due to glare from the sun. We simply cannot tell. 😆 Can you tell? #beekeeping

Did #beehive inspections today. Our original #hive is still in stasis - a lot of #honey, but very little brood, & are only working on the original 5 drawn out frames that came with the #nuc we purchased in spring. There must be a new #virginqueen in the hive because we saw a few larva. We cannot figure out why she hasn't laid a bunch of brood, unless she died recently. Stumped.

In contrast, our swarm hive is outta control & made burr comb on the underside of the queen excluder!😂 #Beekeeping /1
