The good people over at TurnBasedLovers have put together a list of the highest grossing turn-based games https://turnbasedlovers.com/lists/top-10-highest-grossing-turn-based-rpgs-and-strategy-games-of-all-time/ , no matter if strategy or RPG.
Unsurprisingly, this also does include some Civ titles, with #Civ5 coming 4th, and #Civ6 comin g 2nd.
The list claims that Civ5 brought in $179 million on Steam, and Civ6 $358 million on Steam.
They guys put together the list themself, and they don't cite their sources, so it's unclear how reliable these numbers are. Given that Civ5 sold more than 8 million copies, this does not sound unlikely, but we cannot confirm this.

The Baltimore Banner has just before Christmas ran a title called "How Baltimore County became a hidden world of video game companies".
As many of you know, Baltimore is the home to our most important gaming studio, Firaxis, but not only that. Its predecessor, Microprose, was also situated in Baltimore, and more recently also many things have happened there. Firaxis personnel has spawnd other studios like "Big Huge Games", which were responsible for "Rise of Nations", and very recently Oxide Games, which has developed "Ara: History Untold". And we don't know yet what games will come from 2 other studious founded by Firaxis employees, Bit Reactor and Midsummer Studios.

@matematico314 I think this has probably to do with the success of previous titles on the other platforms. #Civ4 until #Civ6 were ported to Mac (by Aspyr, this time apparently not involved), and Civ6 apparently also plays well on the Steamdeck. I guess in all cases they sold well enough to warrant this effort to not rely on Proton or Wine.

Civilization 6, HotSeat

Another very slow game of civilization with my friends. We are trying the Mediterranean map this time, which is big and empty for six players. But barbarian tribes can become city states, so that should be cool.

I’ve got decent food, but my production sucks.

There's not many #CTP2 fan projects still going these days. However long time Civ fan Kull has been working on making the popular Cradle 3+ mods compatible with the Apolyton Edition of CTP2 while also making a huge amount of bug fixes, new gameplay improvements and more things. He's been posting about adding new custom wonders that appear on the surrounding city map titles (#Civ6 style).
