Auf geht's. #PaxPamir zu viert. @tag-brettspiele

A tense and tricky online game of #PaxPamir 2nd edition, which - against the odds - I won. At almost 75% of the way through I was still on zero points and last in the dominant Russian coalition. But I managed to slow the other Russian-aligned players enough for the lone British-aligned player to eliminate the Russian dominance. Then I kept ahead on units in play, to gain most points in the final two scoring rounds. By way of reward, the British-aligned player came second.

Some games to which I more or less know the rules at this point, in no particular order: #TwilightStruggle, the shorter #TSRedSea, #ImperialStruggle, the excellent #BayonetsAndTomahawks produced by talented locals, #HereIStand, #VirginQueen, #PaxRenaissance, #PaxPamir, #Arcs, maybe #JohnCompany but I'm not certain, and at least the Breaking the Bismarck Barrier scenario of #EmpireOfTheSun (finally, a game with real hexes). I have played several COIN games but the one I like the most is #AndeanAbyss. I love #DominantSpecies. I'm starting to love #Nevsky

Definitely not a tabletop board game but I'm also a big fan of #CivilizationVI, e.g. #Civ6. More hexes!

Interested in playing more games with locals, connecting with other people in town, or playing with other places' locals when I'm out of town. Looking at you, Ontario

I don't use Facebook, Discord, or almost any spyware social media if I can help it - and I only use BoardgameGeek begrudgingly. Happy to be on wargamers.social now, I've been thinking about spinning up a more game-focused account for awhile but it's always been on the backburner 😀

Gestern Abend haben wir unsere ersten beiden (!) Runden gespielt, direkt in Vollbesetzung (5). Das war möglich, weil die Runde aus Rollenspiel- & Diplomacy-Veteranen bestand, die komplexe Regeln gewohnt sind. So brauchte die erste Partie gerade einmal 1,5 h.
Das Spiel ist genial. Keine Situation ist ausweglos, man hat immer Möglichkeiten und kann immer etwas reißen, da man die Koalitionen wechseln kann und es verschiedene Wertungsmodi gibt.

I'm coming to the conclusion that I am really terrible at Pax Pamir.

Bin ab Morgen auf einem #Brettspiel Wochenende. Drückt mir die Daumen, dass ich Menschen finde um #Oath oder #PaxPamir zu Spielen 🤞🏼Werde aber auch das ein oder andere #PnPDE schmuggeln und vielleicht Catcher ich ja ein paar 😎 Überlege einen kleinen #Cairn Dungeon, ein #LiminalHorror Modul und #VivaLaQueerBar mitzunehmen.

Started my first game of #PaxPamir on #BGA. The implementation is really nice, on par with the great design and production value (though I only know it from pics/videos) of the actual board game. Looks fantastic.

Man merkt dass es kälter geworden ist, es wird viel mehr gespielt. #PaxPamir kam zweimal auf den Tisch, endlich auch #CatInTheBox und #JustOne. Und seid langem mit #TheOldKingsCrown auch mal wieder ein #Kickstarter auf #TTS. Ist vielversprechend, allerdings aktuell noch nicht auf deutsch bestätigt. @darkpact wäre das nichts für euch? 😜
Angeführt wird das ganze von #Netrunner... Das ist auch einfach zu gut.
Auf der Flopliste dagegen landet bei mir #Djnn , das hat mir so gar nicht gefallen.

Gestern kam mit #PaxPamir mal wieder eines meiner absoluten Favorites auf den Tisch. Und es hat wieder nicht enttäuscht, ging über über vollen 4 Dominanzchecks, und hatte viele "Haste nicht" Momente. Also alles so wie es sein soll.
Danach gab's mit #SurfosaurusMax semi-kooperatives Pokern (leider kein Bild). Meine zweite Partie, diesmal leider getrübt durch Regelfragen die uns die Anleitung nicht abschließend klären konnte.
Zum Schluss noch #CatInTheBox. Sehr interessant, unbedingt nochmal!

@darkpact ja, das ist schon sehr arbeitsintensiv. Zum Ende hin Jam so langsam ein Pax Gefühl auf, aber ich glaub ich bleib auch lieber bei #PaxPamir

Wir "arbeiten" uns in #PaxRenaissance von #IonGameDesign ein. Es macht es einem nicht gar so leicht, da braucht man sicher ein paar Partien bis das *flowt*. Aber irgendwie hat es auch seinen Reiz. Nur die Florina sind von Material her sehr traurig. Wir behelfen uns mit den Münzen von #PaxPamir
