A not too bad month (for me). Where does spare time go these days..

April was quite a month. 32 plays, 17 games, 10 new to me, and somehow it still felt like there wasn't enough time!
Finally joining a local group, Legião dos Jogos, changed everything. Last Will and Escape hit the table in ways they never could solo.
On the solo side, Era of Kingdoms surprised me completely and Onirim reminded me why I keep coming back.

My New Year's resolution to play more boardgames has NOT panned out. These are my plays for the past THREE MONTHS (see ALT text for 2 more games). This is because one of my regular game nights switched from board games to Pasión de las Pasiones and then because of some cancelations. With the youngest kid home from college soon, I'm hoping to start playing more regularly. #BGStats #Boardgames

April was great gaming month.
We finally played Bomb Buster correctly (doh!). Back to the first box
We finished Ticket to Ride Legacy, and loved every minute of it
LOTR Duel is intense.
The Ruins of Arnak campaign is awesome!
Kingdom Legacy is just catnip for human.
And I am getting the hang of Tamashii.Can’t wait to see what May will bring!

Spielemonat April
Für einen April war es ein recht guter Monat. Der ist sonst eher etwas schwächer. Spielerisch gab es Auf uns Abs.
Caral ist sicher der schwächste Titel, Viticulture und Marco Polo waren okay, Skip-Bo ein netter Filler. Roll Camera (neu) hat uns gut abgeholt. Beer & Bread und El Dorado haben Spaß gemacht und unsere Klassiker sind unsere Klassiker aus sehr guten Gründen und davon gab es einige. 😍 Und damit euch allen noch einen schönen 1. Mai! -
Der April ist auch wieder ein spielschwacher Monat. Der Frühling beginnt und es zieht mich nach draußen.
Hinzu kam, dass ich über Ostern krank war.
Gewonnen hat Hitster Schlager Party, was ich mir viel schlimmer vorgestellt habe.
Hitster Battle of Generations ist echt tricky. Da sind die Songs doch immer sehr nah beieinander.
Star Trek Captain's chair macht einfach nur Spaß, besonders wenn mensch mit dem Star Trek Universum ein bißchen was anfangen kann.
Emberleaf hat uns auch gut gefallen und Bücher der Zeit auch.
Wenn ich in der richtigen Stimmung für Würfelglück bin, dann auch Final Girl.
Und Widerstand gegen Nais geht auch immer mal mit Maquis.

#BGStats says in April, I got in 15 plays of 12 different #BoardGames.
#IFFBoston was the last the week of April, so I watched movies instead of some gaming.
New to me were: Clank!: Catacombs, Hot Streak, Wine Cellar, Jungo, and the Concordia Germania map. Got 2 new-to-me aliens in SETI.
I taught: Concordia, Ostia, Moon Colony Bloodbath, Five Tribes, and Power Grid.
Nice to play DS: Marine again (I won), and more plays of Inis and Bloodbath have been good.

Der April war von Schwergewichten geprägt. Einige große Brecher dabei. Meine Favoriten: #PragaCaputRegni, #GalacticCruise und #AgeOfInnovation, das erst ganz frisch eingezogen ist.
#Hegemony war eher so meh, hab die Arbeiterklasse gespielt. Ratet. 🙄
Bei #BrassBirmingham bin ich mir ziemlich sicher dass es weiter ziehen darf.
#BloodOnTheClocktower hab ich zum ersten Mal gespielt und das war eine ganz nette Erfahrung.

March was a great month at the gaming table! 15 plays across 10 games, two of them brand new to me. Dice Throne Adventures stole the show, but there was also a lovely surprise with Alhambra at a cosy local board game café, some tense moments with Dawn of the Zeds, and a very satisfying narrow win in Viticulture.

Most played board games for March.
Ada's Dream is apparently the most complex game we own, according to its BGG weight rating. My spouse discusses it in this video: https://youtu.be/wFOo1mkD8KE
Reforest is from a Canadian designer and publisher. It's not like Wingspan mechanically, but the cards have a similarly attractive and clean design.

#BGStats says in March, I got in 25 plays of 12 different #BoardGames.
I taught: Inis, Innovation, Hansa, and Moon Colony Bloodbath.
New to me were Finca and Strike both of which are quick and fine and Moon Colony Bloodbath which is fun and I got a used copy.
I continue to love Inis but my progress has been slow, I have to get more aggressive in it.
I also play-tested a rummy-like card game which was promising.

Mein März in Brettspielen.
El Paso zum ersten Mal am Tisch - und ich weiß jetzt wie OP Gebäude 2a ist. Wir haben natürlich mit der alten Regel gespielt 🙄
Seti war - entgegen populärer Meinung - das schlimmste Spielerlebnis seit langem.
Innovation dagegen enttäuscht nie.
Artengarten ist unerwartet selten gespielt worden. Liegt wohl zum Teil auch daran dass mein Mann einen neuen Job hat.
Bei Weimar haben bei uns zum ersten Mal nicht die Kommunisten sondern die Deutschnationalen gewonnen

Nachdem im Februar - wegen langer Reise - gar nicht gespielt wurde, ging es im März mit 36 Partien doch recht gut los.
Insgesamt 21 Spiele und darunter 13 für mich neue. Mein Favorit ist Star Trek Captain's Chair. Dewan hat uns auch sehr gut gefallen und auch die Erstpartie SETI fand ich toll.

Nearly forgot about the monthly post! January flew by. Played a nice set of games this last month.
Finally got Atiwa to the table with my group. Dartmoor and Re;Act are new acquisitions that have been a lot of fun to play with my partner, and we’re excited to get the Wingspan Americas expansion soon. So You’ve Been Cursed is also really good, love a good asymmetrical game.
