Wow, amazing afternoon. After all the broiling heat and gagging smoke, one perfect day to sit outside at the Bryn Mawr Gazebo and listen to Trout Fishing in America. Low sun, thoughtful (or goofy) songs, lots of families with happy toddlers on blankets, my favorite people there with me... Couldn't have been better. Needed one of those!!

Trout season opens near me next Saturday. The closest spot is this 1.5-2 acre pond in a county park. Trout are catch and keep as the water will be too warm for them live through the summer. Didn't see any "risers" This pond also has bass, catch and release only.
The nearest stream trout fishing is in the Driftless Area of IL, WI, & Iowa near Galena. Good trout water in north Wisconsin & U.P. Michigan, too.

I'm not here to tell anyone what their attitude about fishing should be. Way back in high school I was often told my attitude was unacceptable and once I even blurted out what I was thinking; that they could tell me what to do but my attitude was my own and none of their business. I still believe that, even after a stern lecture from the principal about the bleakness of my future “with an attitude like that.”
