  1. Hey you beautiful #tooters, I love ya!

Even if I've snarked at you in the past! Or... today! 😄

  2. Hey #tooters, is there a simple, easy-to-compile grammar checker that can run from the command line, sort of like aspell? :D #AskFedi#microblogging #MicroToot: 133 characters

  3. Hey #tooters,

What's the easiest #wiki software to #SelfHost nowadays?

I don't mean "easier than nextcloud"

I mean "almost as easy as #syncthing" XD

Don't say MediaWiki. I want simple markup, not that eldritch horror.

Preferably multi-user, so #TiddlyWiki, as much as I love it, is probably out.

    "Asling for a friend." 😂

  4. My favorite apodo (look it up) for the place most #tooters came from is #Xitter. It uses the #Nahual #pronunciation of #X. I think that is appropriate for a #socialmedia #site which is the largest steaming turd in the #world. I never wallowed in that particular pile of bile.

  5. Who's the proud new owner of tooters.wtf?

    👆 This guy.

    I might have a problem.

  6. @Fu

I've had two or three pretty crazy viral toots that got hundreds of favorites my whole time here, but none of that compares to the dopamine hit of just talking to fun and kind #tooters. :D

  7. Dear #tooters,

Don't ever stop posting your nerdy passion projects.

Even when I can't understand 90% of what you're saying, I love them, and they bring way more healing to a very hurting world than you might surmise.

  8. So sometimes you get a #silly idea, but can't let it go?

Well, what if #JohnMastodon opened a restaurant? I think it'd have to be called #Tooters right?

    #Mastodon

  9. Hey #BSD / #FreeBSD #tooters,

What's a good (used/cheap) desktop to run BSD, preferably with wifi working out of the box (ok, a USB dongle wouldn't be terrible, I probably already have one around here somewhere).

I'm thinking along the lines of a thinkcentre or optiplex SFF or Micro. The kind that gets purchased by the truckload by big corporations, used for 2-3 years, and then "oh no, it doesn't run our bloated, proprietary, utterly garbage software stack well enough, TIME TO BUY A NEW ONE." lol
    (So, like $200-$300 max)

Thinking about using #FreeBSD for my main home base. Been using a #RaspberryPi 4, but it's just too weak in terms of performance and stability, and using ARM (even with only FOSS) is just a death-by-papercuts scenario. Possibly unless you're using a totally source-based OS like #Gentoo. I haven't tried BSD on #ARM, to be honest.

  10. zijn er #tooters die dit apparaat bekend voorkomen?

do you recognize this old device?
