Bit of winter #Bloomscrolling from the weekend: We needed to move the witch hazel - the planter box it was in was rotten, but the fence it was next to was badly damaged by #StormHenk and I wanted to make sure it didn't get damaged in the replacement works.
I love the papery scarlet petals, they really brighten the garden -

A major arterial road in Oxford remains closed because of flooding. I gather some drivers have had to be stopped from trying to move the barriers so they can drive through (and thereby risk creating a wash that would affect nearby properties). What is the matter with some people?

@kewgardens is sad to announce that around 6 trees were lost at Kew in Storm Henk.
This number could have been much higher if it wasn’t for their incredible Tree Gang who maintain our 14,000 trees.
These fallen trees and branches will be mulched and added back to their Gardens. 🌳💚 #KewGardens #stormhenk

It took me 3 times as long as usual to get home from work today due to #StormHenk.
One of the major roads in #Norfolk, A47 was flooded in several places and I had to take the back roads and hope for the best…trying to remember which villages are on higher ground in this county is tricky as it’s very flat!
But it made me realise #ClimateBreakdown is here in the UK and impacting us right now…this is just the start.

Begint hier al lekker te waaien zeg. Hier is suburbaan #Utrecht, zoals mijn volgers ondertussen wel weten. Voordeel is dat alle kruitdampen nu wel zijn weggewaaid.

Well, I don't know what it's like near you dear reader, but the country between North Wales and Gloucester is pretty much all underwater!
Fields have become lakes and roads have become rivers.
A ~5-hour journey became 8!
I've never known it so bad.
