Part two of #TheBoxOfDelights - in which an ancient magician who dates back from pagan times gives away an object of immense magic to some snotty nosed public school boy who he’s only just met to “keep it safe”.

Sunday was the first day of #TheBoxOfDelights

Didn’t toot about it because I was outrageously disrupted by the fact that BritBox is no longer carrying it, so I needed to dig out the DVD, which was far too stressful an escapade and put me entirely out of sorts.

I love DVDs (and CDs and BluRays, and vinyl and the rest) but I don’t want to be forced to confront my organisational system. This isn’t Dante, damn it!

Sad to hear the death of #JulianSands confirmed, but relieved that his family have closure now. For #BBC #BoxOfDelights (1984) fans he is remembered in a very small part as a Greek soldier. He was so charmed by the #JohnMasefield book he asked if he could appear in the TV version, even in a tiny non speaking part. RIP. #80sTV #ChildrensTV #TheBoxOfDelights #RIP

Finished Box of Delights last night. It was a wonderful reminder of how deeply weird British people are, and I mean that in the most loving, admiring way possible. I really did think it was fantastic. Hits me in the same place as the Wonderworks Narnia adaptations. Some of the effects were really clever and fun! #TheBoxofDelights
