Musik teilen mit musiccloud.io statt mit Song.link
Zum Teilen von Musik im Fediverse habe ich bisher Song.link/Odesli genutzt. Das funktioniert sehr einfach, ich kopiere den Link zu einem Lied auf meinem bevorzugten Streamingportal und füge diesen bei Song.link im Suchfeld ein und bekommen dann eine Seite, auf der alle verfügbaren Streaming-Optionen verlinkt sind. So kann jede:r den Song anhören, wo es am besten paßt. Ich habe nichts Negatives über diesen Dienst herausgefunden, trotzdem nutze ich ihn ab sofort nicht mehr. Es hat sich nämlich eine viel coolere Möglichkeit aufgetan: musiccloud.io.
Urheber von musiccloud.io ist einer meiner Mutuals von Mastodon, ~/phranck, der auch die Seite lmaa.space gebaut hat, das steht für „Lokale Märkte. Alternative Anbieter.“ oder „Liste möglicher Amazon-Alternativen“ und ist ein kuratiertes Verzeichnis von verschiedenen Online-Shops unterschiedlicher Branchen, die eins nutzen kann, um Jeff Bezos nicht noch reicher zu machen. Es können auch Vorschläge eingereicht werden, falls ein Shop fehlt, das habe ich auch schon erfolgreich getan.
Doch zurück zu musiccloud.io. Die Funktionsweise ist wie bei Song.link, nur dass die Seite viel schöner gestaltet ist (schwarzer Hintergrund!). Neben den Links gibt es auch noch eine Band-Info, die von Spotify und/oder Last.fm stammt. Außerdem werden zusätzlich die beliebtesten Tracks der Bands und einige ähnliche Künstler aufgelistet. Momentan gibt es nur einen „Link teilen“-Button, der den Link kopiert. Es ist also noch erforderlich, den Link manuell in den Tröt einzufügen. Eine richtige Share-Funktion ist noch in der Entwicklung. Was ich außerdem positiv hervorheben kann ist, dass die Suche über Band und Songtitel besser funktioniert als bei Song.link. Es muss somit nicht unbedingt ein Link eingefügt werden.
Ein schönes Tool, das ~/phranck da gebaut hat. Bitte folgt ihm bei Mastodon und aktiviert die Glocke, damit ihr keines seiner tollen Projekte verpaßt. 😉
Update 20.03.2026: Der Share-Button ist eingebaut und er funktioniert sehr gut.

Ob das allerdings tracking frei ist... Gute Frage.Ich weiss das man affiliate links mit einbauen kann.
Die Seite in open source wäre schön...Hör den song jetzt. War mir unbekannt. Danke fürs teilen. 😢😢

@bram imho not really. It relies too much on a single centralised database, rather than an open standard.
With #SongLink you have a song.link url with a numerical identifier that you need to use to first use their platform to find the platform of your choice, rather than a universal URI can can directly be opened and understood by your preferred service.
So, if SongLink fails, your lookup fails.This is exactly what happened to #SongWhip, which imho had nicer URLs and easier lookup methods and didn't require sign-up, and why now links like https://songwhip.com/freedom-call/metal-is-for-everyone that I used to use in my #MusicFiXatoListensTo or #NowPlaying posts, are now useless dead links.
Ideally we'd have a platform agnostic link like music://artist/song or music://artist/album/song that handles artists with the same name, multiple album releases, and various song versions well enough, and supports not only music but all sorts of media. Bonus points for typo resolution and canonical url redirects, and fallbacks for different platforms if your preferred media player doesn't have the track available.

Guten Morgen zum #TuneTuesday. Heute mit dem Motto #AtDawn. Weil es bei mir ja immer so ist, dass Worte Lieder aufploppen lassen, hatte ich auch gleich eine Melodie dazu im Kopf: Great Hosannah von Kula Shaker aus dem Jahr 1999. Diese Songzeile tauchte passend in meinem Kopf auf: "At the dawn of another meaning" ... Und jetzt hab ich für den Rest des Tages einen Ohrwurm. Aber nen richtig feinen.

Although I've had no response to this, I've worked out something like a solution. #Spotube got me the playlist locally, and it's #songlink facility meant I could go through each track and collate their availability across streaming and purchase providers.
I managed to find all the tracks on #Deezer, so got an embedded playlist working through that service.
Seems to be disagreement online about the relative levels of payment to artists, but at least it's allowing me to #BoycottSpotify -
As a reminder, since Song Whip is gone, Odesli / Songlink is a helpful website that can give you an individualized link to a song or album so when you share it, folks can listen to it on their streaming platform of choice!
