  1. Kennt jemand eine Alternative zu Songlink/Odesli? Mir werden da in der Regel zu wenige Optionen/Alternativen angezeigt.

    #streaming #odesli #songlink

  2. Why hasn't anyone created an #Android app that opens #Spotify and other music service links in #Odesli and allows you to open then in another music service, possibly automating the translation of Spotify links to #TIDAL links?

Seems like a brilliant idea and simple to do.

  3. I just created a iOS Shortcut for this.

    icloud.com/shortcuts/ea11ca3ef

So you can just tap the share button in any music app and then tap "Go to Songlink". (make sure you activate the Share Sheet option in the Shortcut)

I tested it for a few days and it works pretty much as expected. Sometimes it's a bit slow, but that's just the API of Songlink.

  4. As a reminder, since Song Whip is gone, Odesli / Songlink is a helpful website that can give you an individualized link to a song or album so when you share it, folks can listen to it on their streaming platform of choice!

    Very handy.

    Here's the link: odesli.co/

  5. @FlohGro @mactanaka I use these #Odesli shortcuts to share links to songs via their song.link service. notion.so/iOS-Shortcuts-7490c0

Unlike sharing a link from #AppleMusic, #Spotify, etc., song.link lets you share customizable pages with previews and multi-platform links for songs, albums, and podcasts that don’t assume the recipient is using the same service as you.

#LinkTree acquired them in 2021 to drive their Music and Podcast Links, but the separate service still works.

  6. @nyquildotorg hadn't heard of #SongWhip before. I had heard of a similar service, #SongLink, though, which now apparently is called #Odesli, which imho is a far less catchy name: odesli.co/

Will have to test SongWhip out; thanks for sharing.

(Though I'm a bit wary of using a third-party service, as I fear those links will end up being less long-lived than direct links to f.e. #Spotify)
