  1. Politics and licenses are a strange combination. Many people want their software used only for good. Yet even more people can't agree on what "good" actually means.

  2. 🚨 Breaking: "Bambu Studio commits #AGPL flagrant foul!" 🤯 The article dives into the riveting realm of open-source licenses like it's the Super Bowl of software, yet somehow manages to make even the most fervent programmer yawn. If you're into reading legal documents in your free time, this one's a page-turner! 📜💤

  6. Interesting reading material:

    ethicalsource.dev/licenses/

A set of open source licenses that curtiails the use of the work to which it applies. I've often felt uncomfortable by publishing code under the #GPL, #BSD or #Apache licenses (a.o.), knowing that oppressive regimes would then be free to use that code for their nefarious goals.

  7. Not that I still use #mIRC myself (I primarily switched to #WeeChat in a terminal), but @Siiw was still been using it daily with one of the 2 single-user licenses I bought back in 2010.
It wasn't till her PC config changed today, that the app suddenly complained and refused her license.

From what I read online, you can't even decide to stick to an older version from before this license change.
