Latest experience with Ceph: Never enable `rbytes` on the CephFS client mount unless absolutely necessary.
This places an extremely heavy metadata load on the MDS and the OSDs.
So we’re not talking about a 20–30% increase, but rather, depending on the size and depth of the filesystem, an increase of several dozen to hundreds of times.

W końcówce 2025 doszło do bezprecedensowego i skoordynowanego ataku na kilkadziesiąt obiektów w strukturach polskiego sektora energetycznego. Atakującym udało się włamać do co najmniej 30 obiektów typu OZE (farmy wiatrowe i fotowoltaiczne) ale także elektrociepłowni obsługującej 500 tysięcy Polaków i do jednej z firm produkcyjnych. Wszystkie z tych obiektów próbowano unieruchomić i w wielu przypadkach atakujący osiągnęli swój cel. Kto stoi za tym atakiem (i dlaczego tym razem to naprawdę są Rosjanie)? Jak działali włamywacze? Dlaczego nie doszło do tragedii? Tego dowiecie się z niniejszego artykułu.
Dlaczego piszecie o tym dopiero teraz?
O atakach na polską infrastrukturę krytyczną wiadomo od miesiąca. Na przełomie roku informowali o nich politycy. Podsyłaliście nam ich wypowiedzi i oczekiwaliście komentarza. Nie komentowaliśmy tych wypowiedzi świadomie — oświadczenia polityków na temat (cyber)ataków prawie zawsze nie są rzetelne, służą celom politycznym i zazwyczaj wcale nie rozjaśniają sytuacji, a jedynie wprowadzają więcej zamieszania. Dlatego czekaliśmy na techniczne raporty i oświadczenia zaatakowanych podmiotów lub odpowiednich CSIRT-ów. W międzyczasie pojawiły się raporty dotyczące tych incydentów od firm ESET i Dragos, ale z całym szacunkiem do koleżanek i kolegów z obu tych podmiotów, widać było, że te raporty odbiegają od standardów jakościowych obu firm i są bardziej PR-owe, zamiast merytorycznie prezentować całość incydentu (jak się zresztą zaraz okaże, niektóre z wyciąganych w tych raportach wniosków okazały się błędne — jak widać nie zawsze sama telemetria vendora wystarczy, aby zrozumiał on całość ataku).
Dziś sytuację uratował raport CERT Polska, który całościowo i bardzo rzetelnie opisał jak wyglądały [...]

I'm not thinking of the OSD as a blame game. I'm thinking of the OSD as a logical definition that I can use myself to determine if a license is a "Free and Open Source Software" license. The OSD is a great mental tool for me to use, if I understand how to use it.

The process of applying the OSD to the existing licenses in the world is managed in some part by the OSI. That's awesome. I guess this requires applications and so forth. I think it'd be cool if the OSI just went ahead pro-actively and gave their analysis on all kinds of licenses to better educate the public (me).

It is not clear to me what the opinion of the OSI is with respect to the SSPL. It's also not clear what the FSF's opinion is, if it is the same as the OSI, or not?

It did seem clear from the email thread you provided that the SSPL was not acceptable to the OSI for some reason. That was a judgement made by the OSI and no one else is responsible for that judgement.

I'm not interested in the process of getting OSI "approval" of a license. I'm interested in the OSD and how it is understood, logically and clearly. I don't see a clear logical reason why the SSPL was rejected repeatedly. I don't see why the SSPL was required to change

Telling me to dig through an email thread tells me that you cannot explain the clear logical reason.

There are people within that OSI meeting that disagree with you.

It appears that the reason it was rejected by the OSI was ostensibly because it broke two OSD rules, OSD rule #6 and OSD rule #9, reproduced here:

OSD rule 6. No Discrimination Against Fields of Endeavor

OSD rule 9: License Must Not Restrict Other Software

I don't see how the SSPL has broken these rules. I don't see a clear explanation from OSI that explains how these rules are broken by the SSPL.
