So recent updates have completely bahookee'd #BambuStudio on my Debian system. So no more #3dprinting . Seems a number of other users are buggered by this besides me. Can't even run #orcaslicer as it needs the same file.
Insert some of my Grandma's special words here....

Bloody #Bambu P1S 3d-printer hell. I don't use much it, and every time i have to fight with it to get it online. This time their own official app, #BambuStudio, just didn't recognize it.

I had to
- Disable LAN-only mode.
- Connect to it with their phone app via bluetooth.
- Update firmware.
- Download #OrcaStudio.
- Set the printer back to LAN only and enable developer mode.
- Connect with Orca with access code, fail BUT
- Connect with manual mode, SUCCESS.

I'll never buy anything Bambu again. Last year they tried to lock out 3rd party software (with huge backlash), and now ONLY the open source 3rd party program works.

As someone who prefers #Flatpak, yea I uninstalled the outdated orca-slicer package I installed from the #AUR, and installing the (latest) Flatpak (manually) seems to work perfectly.

It does require the same workaround I needed for #BambuLab's #BambuStudio (some env variables), but that's only because I'm using #NVIDIA (on #Wayland) - to get the 3D model/bed preview working.

This is section of model with overhangs (~2cm). The two lines in the middle are bridges. Does anyone knows how to tell the slicer (in my case #BambuStudio) that all overhanging lines should be printed as a bridge? Any ideas?

Another #3dprinting question - if I have a #BambuLab #3Dprinter, is using the #BambuStudio app the way to go for printing, or is there an alternative, better app I could use?

BambuStudio is nice in the sense that not only is it on #Linux, but it's also avai as a #Flatpak which makes installing it easy, but idk... I've only started printing stuffs yest but so far, doesn't seem like that app is as intuitive as I'd want it to be. Things seem a lil messy and not quite what I imagined or like (I think) I've seen used by others on YT videos where you could see a preview of the model you're printing in 3D where you could adjust its angle and wtnot before sending it to print.

Any suggestions/pointers?

Update: OH, maybe I am supposed to be getting a 3D preview of what I'm printing, I just don't (on BambuStudio) cos it's an issue on Linux perhaps specifically for #NVIDIA GPU users.

Going to hang up some xmas lights, and want a little nailing clip. A brief look at #Printables didn't come up with something quite like I envisaged, so have designed something fast in #Blender (20min) and am trying to print a first attempt on the new #Bambu #A1Mini I just got this past week.

Haven't got a functional #Cura profile yet, but managed to employ the #BambuStudio app without any of the cloud junk enabled, so seeing how that goes. [I'm fine with SDcard sneaker-net]

Wow! This is by far the best result. I „just" used a well dried „Support-W for PLA“ filament from #BambuLab for the interface.
