#TropicalStorm #Nari (나리; Korean for lily) moved past Hokkaido last week. A new #TropicalDepression will soon become #TropicalStorm #Wipha (วิภา; Thai woman's name):

• It will skirt northern Luzon, Philippines by Fri evening, before entering South China Sea on Sat.
• It will brush past Hong Kong and Macau by Sunday pm.
• It may make landfall as a #SevereTropicalStorm on Leizhou Pen., in Hainan, China, or in Vietnam on Tue.
• It might not reach #Typhoon strength though. We'll wait and see.

#Typhoon #Danas (now downgraded to #SevereTropicalStorm) has come and gone. Where we live up in North #Taiwan is mostly fine. However, southern cities and counties such #Chiayi suffered pretty bad damage.

Two tropical cyclones in the Western North Pacific at the moment:

• #SevereTropicalStorm #Mun is expected to briefly reach #Typhoon strength by Sunday morning. It will not affect any major landmass.
• #TropicalStorm #Danas will intensify as a Typhoon, and move NE along the Taiwan Strait, skirting the west coast of #Taiwan on Sunday afternoon and much of Monday.
• Mun is the Yapese name for the month of June; while Danas is a Tagalog word, meaning "to feel".

Maybe this one will make landfall? Haikui is still categorised as a severe tropical storm but is likely to be upgraded to a typhoon.
