After dawdling off the east coast of #Taiwan with an erratic loop for all of Wednesday, #Typhoon #Gaemi finally made landfall in #Yilan on Thursday midnight, then quickly exited through #Taoyuan at 4:20 this morning.
We're now in the second phase of this typhoon: back at sea, Gaemi will sweep up moisture in the open waters to its southwest, and rain heavily on the southern half of the island. Forecast total #rainfall in some locations will be 1,800mm/71in by the time it's all over.
