I will also say, though I feel like a bad person to say it, that now I often regret the activism I did. I don't regret the causes or what I learned from it, but I regret how much time it took away from my own #SelfExploration. It's like I went from Christofascist's demands that I be selfless and sacrifice myself for a cause to the left's demands that I be selfless and sacrifice for a cause. Both have me a lot of #trauma. And in all of that, whatever the cause, there wasn't much room left for me. I think if I hadn't gotten involved in leftist activism, I probably would have come out much sooner, in no small part because of all the #queer gatekeeping within the left. I think I would have had time to just be a young adult. I think I could have explored #kink. I think I could have made up for at least some of the experiences I didn't get to have growing up in the repressed, conservative environment that I did.
