Living with a lifelong health condition, spending years in hospitals, and losing people I loved far too young has taught me that tomorrow isn't guaranteed. Life changes when a pet dies. In our case, our dog Trixie died yesterday. They don’t tell you life changes, beyond the immediate, obvious loss. But, it does. This little girlie is slowing down. Trixie turned 14 at the end of May. She has surpassed in her longevity all of all our wildest expectations; this is the dog who had major surgery for bladder stones in 2019. She has been on some form of prescription food since then. I’ve been on a boot kick for about two years now, wearing only my Aérosoles Daria boots near daily for a year and a half or so. I had two pair: one brown, one faux patent leather.
