Yesterday we finally watched #Amsterdam too. It was better than we expected. Quirky and fun, even if the matter was serious. I think I would stick #SeeHowTheyRun in 1st place, and the other two I'm not sure. #GlassOnion was let down by a poor final act.

OK, so which is the best #MurderMystery film of this holiday season?

#SeeHowTheyRun is the second quirky British film we have seen that scores relatively weakly on #IMDB but is thoroughly enjoyable. Witty humour and especially good likeable characters are elements that are all but forgotten in most films, without which big plots and computer effects feel empty. Stories are about the people. But seemingly people don’t want that?

I just watched #SeeHowTheyRun on #HBOMax, a more old-fashioned (and very silly fun) version of an #AgathaChristie story than the #KnivesOut series, and was completely distracted by how much #SaoirseRonan looks like #DorothyAtkinson, at least in facial structure.

I only know Dorothy from #Pennyworth, in which she's very good, and Saoirse from #Atonement and #LovelyBones, plus this now, so the physical resemblance surprised me.

And yes, I have a crush on Dorothy, which is why I noticed.

Watched See How They Run last night (a comedy murder-mystery starring Saoirse Ronan and Sam Rockwell at the head of a fine ensemble).

I can see how some people had a problem with the deconstructionist self-referentialism of the thing. Had it caught me on a different day, I might have been one of them.

But I was in the mood for something light, clever yet very silly... something fun. See How They Run delivers on those fronts. Would recommend if you're in a similar mood.

Hat Spaß gemacht, aber #SeeHowTheyRun wäre way better, wenn die Macher ernst genommen hätten, dass das als Krimi funktionieren sollte. Außerdem bissle zu wenig Platz für Inspector Sheppard, Constable Stalker (Saoirse Ronan) aber wirklich toll.

Wir gucken #SeeHowTheyRun & es ist vielleicht ein bissle #meta, aber auch unterhaltsam.

Also saw #SeeHowTheyRun last night (two family movie nights in the same week!). Very fun if you’re into the murder mystery genre.

J turned to me and said, hey, we should watch #TheMousetrap since we’ve never seen it. And…wow, there really *is* a contract that forbids a movie version until the play stops running in the West End, where it’s run since 1952.

Jumping on to recommend #seehowtheyrun for being a great clever story told in 1hr40. A perfect dinner time treat

I watched “See How They Run” (2022) tonight…middling 3/5 stars. I think they wasted a lot of potential by having Sam Rockwell play a mostly silent Englishman. He’s so funny and expressive in the right role.

I think that was a lot of what didn’t hit right for me: the characters didn’t have room to be engaging. That being said Shirley Henderson as Christie was perfection :blobcatjustright:
