Started watching the cozy mystery #film "Invitation to a Murder" (set in the 1930s) but stopped after some time. The writing is rather wooden imho, the characters seem to be quite bland and stereotypical (at least, some of them, maybe on purpose) and though there is some nice atmospheric photography, I just didn't care about who murdered whom (and why).

For a cozy mystery, there is a very high body count! There are a couple of budding romances, and we get a sense of Rosie Lee's happy marriage and why she misses him so. No one is more reliable than Jenn McKinlay when I just want to enjoy a palate cleanser between darker and more complicated books.
