If you're a senior #rubyist looking to get #fedihired I have something coming up. My very stable, long lived team of 7 (most of us have been here 10-20 years) is adding a contract to perm position. Message me for details about how to reach out to the contractor. We're definitely not hiring directly without a contract period.

#vim is my code editor of choice, but my fingers still expect some emacs bindings to work in shell prompts. I configure `set -o vi` locally, but frequently access servers or containers where that isn’t the default, so my finger memory sometimes gets bollixed up at the prompt.

On a side note, I also prefer using irb as a tape calculator with history to a GUI calculator app for most things. I can’t be the only #Rubyist who does that either, right?

Maybe time for an #introduction finally?

Hi, I'm Mike. I've been a #rubyist since 2006 or so, and an #oss contributor and maintainer for most of that time.

I currently maintain Nokogiri, Loofah, Mechanize, and Rails::Html::Sanitizer and work on the Rails Triage and Rails security team.

I have a degree in #physics but don't get to use it much. I've got a wife and a daughter and I live in New Jersey. Also some furry children.

Oh, and I lead the Ruby and Rails team at #Shopify!
