Collecting extra grandma tax.

Another reason Riley extended her vacation was to see her new grandson: Terry. Rena will learn the right word eventually. Maybe.

It is almost the Island Festival, and Riley arranged for Iris' friends to come with them. Zana and Gwen knew oceans were huge, but they never saw one before. Iris has other priorities.

Riley is happy to have her family visit for her birthday, but she wishes they brought the kids to pay the grandma tax, too.

Is Riley paying or receiving the grandma tax when she takes the kids out for the limited edition Heroes of the Rebellion Happy Meal toys?

Iris tries putting on a happy face and staying energetic, but sometimes she misses her mom and can't help feeling sad. Thankfully, big sis is there for her when she's feeling low.

Holidays are over, so it is time to get back to normal. Iris might not want to go home, but she's invented several new swears that would make her Corellian ancestors proud.

Riley and Diane are enjoying a soak with some sake while they catch up. They're already a little tipsy, but they're having fun.

Don't worry. Iris hasn't had anything to drink. She's just very happy.

Holiday over. Time for the annual family onsen trip. Even without Riyo trying to sneak along, they have a huge group. Two rooms were needed between Eli and Diane.

Merry Christmas from Eli and his (immediate) family (without space in my sketchbook for Diane).

We hope everyone has a great holiday even if you don't celebrate.

At the end of the day, the two sisters need a lot of sleep for tomorrow's adventures.

Riley and Iris are trying to learn how to cook now that they live together. They are not sure what they made, but they made it. At least it is better than the droid's (healthy) cooking.

Like most organic beings, Iris needs caf to function in the morning. Riley might not make it as good as her son, but her caf is still better than the droid's.

Since all of the family is together, there is no better bonding activity than tons of video games. Riley would play too, but she's busy collecting the grandma tax.

After a stressful week where discovering a long lost very younger sister was the least crazy thing, Riley is going to relax all weekend, starting with sleeping in.

From tropics to tundra, the island regions are known for tourism and fishing. Many festival goers come for the large selection of seafood. Repeat guests know the best local restaurants for feasting.

Eli and Diane love their mom. Riley loves her kids too, but she's a little surprised when they ambush her with hugs out of the blue.

Riley got Eli to do another mother and son twinsies costume. This time from a cartoon they watched when he was a child and she was a young adult. Eli's opinion on dressing up is in character too.

Riley learned to exercise trigger safety when trying to make a point.

Inspired by one of the funniest moments in Star Wars: Resistance. Watch it. It is a fun series.

Too cold to do things. Just stay inside and play video games.
