Décadas después, Rimbaud se convirtió en el modelo definitivo del artista rebelde: joven, brillante, autodestructivo y desaparecido antes de tiempo.
El mito del “poeta maldito” quedó unido para siempre a su nombre.

Su influencia en la música y la cultura popular fue gigantesca.

Jim Morrison estaba obsesionado con él y adoptó la idea del “desarreglo de los sentidos” como forma de vida y creación artística.
Leía a Rimbaud constantemente antes de subir al escenario con The Doors.

Bob Dylan lo citó como una de sus grandes influencias y llegó a mencionarlo directamente en sus canciones junto a Verlaine.

Patti Smith lo convirtió prácticamente en su santo patrono artístico.
Le dedicó poemas, canciones como *Rimbaud Eyes* e incluso compró y restauró la antigua casa familiar del poeta en Roche para evitar que desapareciera.

David Bowie también reconoció la influencia de Rimbaud en su manera de construir identidades y personajes como Ziggy Stardust.
La idea de reinventarse constantemente venía directamente del poeta francés.

Rimbaud escribió poco, vivió rápido y desapareció demasiado pronto.
Pero dejó algo raro en la historia cultural: la sensación de que la modernidad empezó realmente con él.

"...150 years ago today, on July 10, 1873... a highly charged drama was unfolding in a Brussels Hotel. The poet #PaulVerlaine, intoxicated and desperate, shot his beloved companion, #ArthurRimbaud in the wrist with a small revolver. The unfortunate occurrence resulted in 18 months imprisonment for Verlaine, and a frenzied .. literary outpouring from Rimbaud.. [producing] "A Season in Hell".
