In the dim dark ages, before the internet, before the BBS'es, even before office computers, there were office bulletin boards and cubicle partition, graced by old school #memes images photo copied over and over to the point, original strokes were degrading...

... This was a way to show rebellion and individuality by the #workers. Usually the #workplaceculture could be quite accurately established via the number and #passiveaggressive tone of the images.

@cryptadamist For Cambodia, I made criticizing nicknames Concentration Campodia and Chingdom of Scambodia.

The UK and US embassies mentioned helping to release the journalist Mech Dara are in my opinion hypocritical:
1) When I visited British embassy in Phnom Penh, I remember they refused to let me in unless I have an appointment by phone or e-mail. How people, whose phone and money was stolen, are supposed to get in to ask for help?
2) An alleged US citizen complained that he allegedly run out of money and went to US embassy in Phnom Penh for help to pay him a ticket back and promise to pay back the ticket debt later. He claimed they required him to get detained in a foreigner detention centre first which he couldn't, because the detention center required paid COVID test and he had no money. I wrote the embassy a message urging them to stop rejecting the man.
3) When I visited the US embassy about Khmer-English machine translator I made, to ask if they want to support the work, and if they have large Khmer-English dictionaries in their library, I got a very authoritarian, prison-like impression from the embassy and I remember that they refused to let me in with a smartphone for alleged security reason, I had to keep it in a locker, so I couldn't show them the machine translator, and they also had no Internet inside so they couldn't look on their ownsmartphone, again alleged security reason.

In my opinion these behaviours are authoritarian and passive aggressive obstructions.

Today, I had another one of these moments. Two weeks ago I had a unfriendly, essentially #passiveaggressive exchange with a #colleague & felt annoyed. I couldn't catch her, so the #conflict lingered. It's a small bit of #passiveAggressive, and I'm not proud of it... but does anyone else use vindictive passwords when logging into services they dislike but are forced to use? It's remarkable how the password creativity flows when I have to use Microsoft tools for work...

I called my sis and the message says she’s not taking calls.

I text to ask what’s up.

She texts back to say she changed her message.

I try it again and I get the new message.

I text her back that I heard her updated messages.

She texted back “thanks.”

Four hours later and she hasn’t called to see what I originally wanted. Or texted.

And that’s how we do MN Nice/Passive Aggressiveness in this family.
