This is a quick and easy solution. No folding is required. It is not as clean but better suited for kids. With this solution this paper circuit project would make a great 2 hour workshop for kids age 10 and older I guess.

@VoltPaperScissors I started from your video instructions and modified to match what I had on hand... the connections to the LEDs are quite unstable using copper tape, and tracing paper is terribly fragile (I ended up reinforcing every single fold with tape), and in sum I regret everything, but it was great fun as an exercise!! When it stops working it'll be a fun nonfunctional decoration -- I'm really pleased with it. Thanks again for sharing this project. #paperCircuit #papercraft

A year ago, I saw someone open a book lamp in a bar. It was a pretty expensive product. Since I combine electronics and paper crafting, I had to DIY it and develop an easy-to-use circuit template and instructions for it. This educational project is perfect for libraries. Please #retoot :-)

After my Minecraft Torch paper circuit project, I wanted to invent a circuit that is playful, yet easy to make. The result was this RGB Cube that is controlled by a touch-sensitive paper surface. A few years ago, I first used conductive nylon fabric tape for paper circuitry and was amazed to find that it made much more reliable connections than copper tape. Even the adhesive side is 100% conductive. This discovery was a game changer for me and I started experimenting with paper circuit ideas to teach kids about electronics. The first was this Minecraft-inspired paper torch in various designs.

When I started Volt, Paper, Scissors! I wanted to create an online project with a clear focus on simple electronics, conductive tape and creative papercrafting. Working within limits is great, but I wanted to see how far I can take this concept. So for my second paper circuit prototype I used a posable paper model of Heisenberg made by the brilliant paper artist @robives I added a glowing flask and some steam.

My first paper circuit project was this anglerfish. I modeled it in Blender, printed templates using Pepakura, and used conductive tape for "wiring". It lights up with an RGB LED and a button cell. This anglerfish still hangs in my room, giving me nightmares 😅. Lots of fun, but also lots of work.
